DETAILS
TO KNOW

Thank you for choosing RxSmile Frisco Orthodontics & Airway Health. We recognize that orthodontic treatment is a big decision. Our goal is to educate you on everything you need to know about the process: from types of treatments we offer; to what to expect during your new patient consultation; to financing and insurance options that’ll fit your budget. We will take the time to answer all your questions so you feel confident about your decision and excited about your new smile journey!

What to Expect during your New Patient Consultation

FOR CHILDREN/TEENS
Expect to spend about 1 hour for the initial complimentary new patient consultation. A member of the RxSmile team will take photos of your child/teen, plus a 3D imaging scan to get a 3D model of the mouth to evaluate any jaw, teeth or pediatric airway concerns (age 7 and up). Dr. Greenberg or Dr. Ortiz will come in and perform a thorough oral exam and review the photos and 3D imaging. The doctor will discuss future growth and development (if patient is a child), and identify any issues where treatment might be recommended. If treatment options are necessary, he’ll outline a custom treatment plan, review treatment timeline and associated financial costs. If treatment is not recommended at this time, your child/teen may be put on our “observation program” where every 6 months to 1 year we’ll notify you to come in for a follow-up consultation.

RxSmile Orthodontics New Patient Consultation

Please note: if your child is under the age of 7 and coming in specifically for a pediatric sleep apnea screening, we’ll be happy to schedule the consultation but there will be a nominal fee for the CBCT imaging scans, exam, sleep assessment and recommendations.

FOR ADULTS
For our adult patients, we know you’re busy, so we offer the convenience of a complimentary virtual consultation through our SmileSnap app. Look for the red button “Start Your Virtual Consultation”. Follow the instructions to provide us with basic information, insurance and some photos of your teeth. One of our doctors will review the photos and come up with treatment options. A Treatment Coordinator will call you to discuss the plan and answer any questions. If you’re ready to proceed with treatment, we’ll bring you in for some additional photos and get you started on your braces or Invisalign journey. (If you’re an adult and wish come in-person for your consultation, please CALL (972) 335-1300 or fill out a consultation request form and one of our staff will schedule an appointment.)

Kids 7+ Early Orthodontic Evaluations

PHASE 1 VS PHASE 2 ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT
When dealing with a child’s growth and development, timing is everything! Age 7 is the best time for an early orthodontic (Phase 1) evaluation. Phase 1 Orthodontic Treatment is for children ages 7-10 who still have some of their baby teeth, but already exhibit moderate to severe bite problems or severely misaligned or crowded teeth. The goal of this early phase is to develop jaw size in order to accommodate all their permanent teeth. Phase 2 Orthodontic Treatment usually begins around age 13, once all their permanent teeth have come in. The goal of this phase is to align all the teeth into a perfect position or detail the bite, which can take approximately 12-24 months. Identifying problems early can give your child a better orthodontic experience, with fewer complications, and the best results. If your child is 7 or older and hasn’t seen an orthodontist for their first orthodontic evaluation, CALL (972) 335-1300 or request a complimentary consultation.

PEDIATRIC SLEEP SCREENING
As orthodontists, Drs. Greenberg and Ortiz understand the growth and development of a child’s face and head. They also have airway-specific training making them uniquely qualified to screen your child for Pediatric Sleep-Disordered Breathing (SDB) and Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) concerns. As part of our early orthodontic (Phase 1) evaluation, RxSmile offers a Complimentary Consultation (for kids ages 7 and up) and the Pediatric Sleep Screening is part of each child’s New Patient Orthodontic Consultation. If your child is under the age of 7 and coming in specifically for a pediatric sleep screening, we’ll be happy to schedule the consultation but there will be a nominal fee for the CBCT imaging scans, exam, sleep assessment and “next steps” recommendations. Concerned your child exhibits Pediatric Obstructive Sleep Apnea symptoms? CALL (972) 335-1300 or fill out a consultation request form.

Building Beautiful Smiles … Together!

No matter the orthodontic treatment, our goal is to work with you to create and maintain a more confident, beautiful smile!

PASSIVE SELF-LIGATING BRACES
Drs. Greenberg and Ortiz exclusively use the Pitts21 self-ligating bracket system which allows for faster orthodontic treatment times, easier cleaning, requires fewer appointments, creates less discomfort, and produces high-quality results that patients love! Pitts21 brackets are smaller and more discreet than traditional braces because there’s no elastic ties. This allows for precise bracket placement and smoother tooth movement resulting in a smile that’s both functional and attractive.

INVISALIGN CLEAR ALIGNERS
RxSmile Frisco Orthodontics is an accredited Invisalign® Platinum Provider. Invisalign clear aligners are a great option for those who do not want to appear to be wearing braces. Designed to treat children ages 7+, as well as teens and adults needing minor tooth movement, up to complex orthodontic cases. They’re customized and trimmed based on each patient’s gum line to provide optimal comfort. Plus, there are no food restrictions and they have minimal impact on your everyday lifestyle.

ORTHODONTIC RETAINER PROGRAM
Once you finish your orthodontic treatment, it’s time to lock-in that beautiful smile for life! When worn properly, retainers will prevent your teeth from shifting back to their original position. So whether you’ve had passive self-ligating braces or Invisalign clear aligners as your orthodontic treatment, it’s important to get the right retainer to preserve and protect your investment. Our Retainer Program is designed to save you time, money and hassle by purchasing extra retainers at a discount.

Flexible Financing and Insurance Options

Paying for your orthodontic treatment is super easy with DIY payment options!

RxSmile removes payment obstacles by offering extremely flexible financing with low down payments, interest-free financing, and we accept all orthodontic insurance benefits too. We accept most “traditional” insurance plans and we’re an In-Network PPO Provider for: Aetna, Assurant, Careington, Cigna, Delta Dental, Dentemax, Dental Health Alliance, Dental Network of American, Guardian, Metlife, Sun Life, United Concordia Dental, United Concordia DOD, and United Healthcare. Please note, we do not participate in DHMO plans or Medicaid.

Budget planning made easy!

The OrthoFi payment slider tool allows you to:

  • choose the down payment that works for your budget
  • create a monthly payment plan to fit your budget
  • adjust the treatment payment due date to fit your budget
  • see current charges and review payment history
  • print flex spending reimbursement and tax receipts
  • get convenient online access to all your account details in one location

Many dental insurance plans will cover at least a portion of orthodontic and pediatric sleep apnea treatments. You should contact your insurance provider to find out exactly what and how much is covered. If you do not have dental insurance, or your insurance covers only part of your orthodontic treatment (which is generally the case), RxSmile offers additional payment plans and discount options.
