Choosing to have orthodontic treatment is a big decision. At RxSmile, we want to make sure you’re fully informed about the process as well as financing and insurance options available. RxSmile is “in-network” with most insurance companies that offer orthodontic benefits. We have extremely flexible financing, with low down payments, and interest-free financing too. We strive to work with patients and families on payment options — we do not want cost to stand between you and your beautiful smile!
What to Expect on Your First Visit
Expect to spend about 1 hour for the initial complimentary consultation. A member of the RxSmile team will take photos of you/your child, plus a 3D Orthodontics Imaging scan to get a 3D model of the mouth to evaluate any jaw, teeth or airway concerns. Dr. Greenberg or Dr. Ortiz will come in and perform a thorough oral exam and review the photos and 3D imaging. He will discuss future growth and development (if patient is a child), and identify any issues where treatment might be recommended. If treatment options are necessary, he’ll outline a custom treatment plan, review treatment timeline and associated financial costs. If treatment is not recommended at this time, you/your child may be put on our “observation program” where every 6 months to 1 year we’ll notify you to come in for a follow-up consultation.
Early Treatment Evaluation
We frequently hear the question: “What is the best age for a child’s first orthodontic evaluation?” When dealing with a child’s growth and development, timing is everything! Bringing your child in for their first evaluation, on or around age 7, will ensure that treatment needs are identified early, giving them a better orthodontic experience, with fewer complications, and the best outcome. If your child is 7 or older and hasn’t been seen by an orthodontist for their first early treatment evaluation, please call the RxSmile office at 972-335-1300 or schedule a complimentary consultation today.
We want children of all ages to feel like they’re part of the RxSmile family, so we developed The Wired-Up Club for younger RxSmile Orthodontics siblings (birth through age 7) who aren’t quite ready for their braces debut. It’s easy to join the club, just stop by our front desk during your next appointment and ask to be signed up! Once we enter each sibling(s) information and take a few pics, we’ll give them a special welcome T-shirt (or bib for those under 2).

Paying for your orthodontic treatment is super easy with DIY payment options! We offer extremely flexible financing with low down payments, interest-free financing, and we accept all orthodontic insurance benefits too. Many dental insurance plans will cover at least a portion of orthodontic and pediatric sleep apnea treatments. You should contact your insurance provider to find out exactly what and how much is covered. If you do not have dental insurance, or your insurance covers only part of your orthodontic treatment (which is generally the case), RxSmile offers several payment options:
- OrthoFi Payment Plans: An individualized financial tool available through our orthodontic office in which you can design your own payment plan to fit within your personal budget and allow you to pay for treatment over time.
- Payment in Full Discount: We offer a discount to patients who choose to pay for their treatment in full prior to beginning treatment.
- Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Health Savings Accounts (HSA) can often be used to cover the cost of braces. Be sure to consult with Dr. Greenberg to ensure that any requirements for using these accounts are fulfilled. Knowing the rules and any monetary limits of your account will help the orthodontic payment process run smoothly.
No-Show without Contact Policy
Effective March 1, 2024 a “No-Show Without Contact” charge goes into effect for appointments that are not canceled or rescheduled in a timely manner.
We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and we strive to accommodate our patients’ needs to the best of our ability. However, frequent no-shows without any notice can disrupt our schedule and prevent other patients from receiving timely care.
Please note the following details regarding the “No-Show Without Contact” policy:
A fee of $50 will be charged to your account and collected at the next scheduled visit if the patient does not show up without prior notice. Exceptions may be made for emergencies or extenuating circumstances, and we encourage you to contact our office as soon as possible in such situations.
