RETAINER PROGRAM

best protection plan for your new smile

SAVE TIME,
MONEY AND
HASSLE

Congratulations on finishing your orthodontic treatment! Now it’s time to lock in that beautiful smile for life! When worn properly, retainers prevent teeth from shifting back to their original position. So whether you had traditional braces or a clear aligner treatment, it’s important to get the right retainer and retainer maintenance to preserve and protect your investment. RxSmile Orthodontics has developed a Retainer Program to save you time, money and hassle by purchasing extra retainers at a discount.

Do I Need a Retainer?

Yes, you will need to wear a retainer! Patients are often surprised to hear they’ll have to wear retainers “for the rest of their life”. Every case is different, but the retention phase typically lasts about 12 months. Continuing to wear your retainers indefinitely will create optimal results and ensure that your teeth remain in the correct positions. Dr. Greenberg will create retainers that are customized to fit your unique smile and your lifestyle. Based on the recommended retainer option, he’ll also provide you with personalized instructions for wearing your retainer.

Types of Orthodontic Retainers

RxSmile Orthodontics provides both fixed retainers and removable retainers.

Bonded/Fixed Retainers
Fixed or bonded retainers, also known as “permanent” retainers, use thin metal wires/bars hidden behind the teeth. These retainers are custom-fit to the exact arch of the teeth and can hold teeth together to prevent gaps from reforming. Dr. Greenberg commonly uses this type of retainer on the lower teeth. While you don’t have to think about taking the retainer in and out, it does make it challenging to clean and floss.

Hawley Retainers
Hawley retainers are one of the most common retainers. These removable retainers are made of a combination of metal wires and sturdy acrylic. First we take a 3D scan of your teeth to create the mold. The retainer acrylic plate fits snugly behind the teeth and covers the palate, while a durable metal bar wraps around the front teeth. Dr. Greenberg can even create custom retainers unique to your smile, so your personality sparkles and shines!

Vivera® Clear Retainers
Vivera removable retainers are made by the same team that makes Invisalign® clear aligners. They’re virtually-invisible, comfortable, custom-fit … just like Invisalign aligners. Vivera retainers are also 30% stronger and twice as durable as other clear retainers. Dr. Greenberg uses this superior quality retainer because it means a longer retainer lifespan, fewer replacements and re-orders, with less hassle and a greater value over time.

Save time, money and hassle

Let’s face it, we’re all busy and accidents happen! We find people often wait too long to schedule an appointment when they loose or break a retainer. The more time you wait and allow the teeth to shift, additional treatment costs might be needed, creating a bigger financial burden. Our retainer program means you’ll have additional retainers on-hand to immediately use when your retainer is ready for replacement, regardless if from wear, loss, or damage.

Don’t wait! Purchase extra retainers now at a discount!

This program isn’t just for patients we’ve treated!

We often get calls asking, “I haven’t worn a retainer in a while. What do I do?” or even worse, “I can tell my teeth have shifted. What do I do?” The short answer is don’t wait any longer! Shifting happens, especially if you’ve lapsed with retainer retention. The longer you wait, the more time you allow for your teeth to continue to shift and the greater likelihood you could need braces again. The first step is to set up an appointment with Dr. Greenberg to evaluate your teeth position. If another retainer needs to be made, we can scan your teeth to create a new mold and create your new retainer. Insurance may cover a portion of the fee, we would be happy to call and verify your benefits.
