We’re excited to welcome a new doctor into the RxSmile practice! Don’t worry, Dr. Greenberg isn’t going anywhere. He will just be smiling along side a new associate, Dr. Jan Ortiz. We know you’ll LOVE Dr. Ortiz! He is extremely gentle, kind, and easy going, and has been practicing orthodontics for 12 years!
Meet Dr. Jan Ortiz, DMD
Dr. Jan Ortiz graduated in 2005 from the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine where he is natural from. After finishing his dental degree at the top of his class, Dr. Ortiz obtained his Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine focusing on special needs and medically compromised patients. Later on, Dr. Jan Ortiz received his specialty training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics combined with a Doctorate in Sciences in dentistry from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
During his entire dental training, Dr. Ortiz was involved in numerous research projects and publications regarding bone metabolism. These research projects have enabled him to have a better understanding of bone behavior and ultimately, tooth movement.
Dr. Ortiz is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Boston University Alumni Association and the Southwest Association of Orthodontist. Dr. Ortiz is also a Board-certified orthodontist under the American Board of Orthodontists.
Dr. Ortiz enjoys spending time with his family, traveling and watching sports.

- He was born and raised in Puerto Rico and started his dental study there
- Attended Boston University
- He met his wife while at BU who is a periodontist
- He enjoys traveling and his favorite places he has visited is Dubai and Japan
- He enjoys wine tasting
- New York style pepperoni pizza is his favorite food
- He has two kids! Zoe who is 12 years old, and Noah who is 9 years old
- You can find him on the weekends supporting his kids at their volleyball and baseball tournaments
